The Eamon Dunphy Thread

Well leave it there so.

Ah now mike, we can’t be having that now.

I just have an aversion to bullies of which Bill was a particularly nasty type of one. Tyrant was the word used.

My mother nursed Bill way back when in The Richmond Hospital and he was meant to be the finest.

I think he had to have a bypass quite young.

When your man Hunter goes, ‘this is a very dangerous situation’ is absolutely iconic.

Bill was an orange man.

Some of the soundest lads on here are orange.

But you’d never want to turn off completely.

They cut out the best bet when dunphy laughs at your man at the end.

We were some country back then. Pity the nutters have ruined it for everyone

I like the clip where Eamo drops and f-bomb or two because they didn’t know they were back on air.

Dunphy was a lot better than Roy Keane

I’d agree with you there. Keane is a poor man’s Dunphy

Dunphy thoughtt Wes Houlahan should be starting as a holding midfielder.

Football tactics wasn’t what I was referring to there mate. He was an entertainer

Roy wishes he could talk like Eamon and Eamon wishes he could’ve covered the ground as quick as Roy. (Edit: Roy probably doesn’t care. Roy is actually more of an actor than a football pundit.)

Was dunphy not a pretty serious journalist back in the day

Did PR for the tobacco industry

Catholic. Although his wife is COI.

Paisley ruined his career by accusing him of being drunk… Bill was a teetotaler - or an orange man as he joked

Unreal, mad to think a man who fairly recently won the premier league was looking at the Ireland job. AND they never gave it to him :exploding_head:

Dunphy was a horrible cunt, he was fully cut half of the time I’d say.

He was fucking great craic though.

Imagine Cantwell having to deal with Dunphy :joy:

I’d pay my licence fee to see that
