The end of Oasis?
I wish I could argue my points and be as articulate as you.

And I wish I had an original thought when it comes to music just like you…

Not when your gripe is with me telling Oasis what to do when you are essentially doing the same with Radiohead and saying that they’ll regret not just sticking to The Bends type music.
It’s not the realm of synths either - let’s just get that straight.
Possibly not but I think you know what I’m getting at. Ed O’Brien though it was great craic sitting around the studio with no-one actually playing their instruments and trying to create more songs of the kind that put them where they are. For the rest of us though, it wasn’t great craic listening to the fruits of this time in the studio. Obviously I don’t claim to speak for everyone, but myself and most Radiohead fans I know would rarely listen to any of these albums from one end to the other, but yet we can do this was the Bends and OK Computer (just about). The reason - it could be that the Bends and OK Computer are very much of their time, and it’s a time we want to be brought back to, but I just think it’s because they’re great albums, and the 3 that followed aren’t. You’ve already said they’re “good” - presumably then, you’d agree they’re not “great”.

All I am saying is don’t fucking shoot me for putting up music which you may not have heard before in attempt to get people listening to it.

If you don’t like it - fine. But don’t shoot the messenger.

I would never assume to tell Radiohead what to do or what they should think, I am merely expressing an opinion that there is a possibility that maybe they might wonder what might have been , what if they had stuck within the confines of OKC, rather than going off down the road(s) they did. Oasis don’t have that worry because they didn’t go off on them tangents.

The messenger  appointed by god were we??

None of them stand out as being great, that’s a big statement. Kid A is certainly very good.

I like where Radiohead decided to head. I like the way they did away with what they knew and were loved for and looked in different musical areas and tried different things. I think it took balls.

But yeah - you shouldn’t necessarily commend a band for just being different. They need to back it up. As I said Kid A is very good, Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief are good, and In Rainbows is very good. I look forward to their new album - I know it will be different and they will be trying different things. They are always fresh and interesting.

Oasis have been paddling the same old canoe for 15 years now. Fair enough if they are still delivering the goods but I never really thought they did in the first place, certainly not enough to justify the esteem they are held in, and since then have prgressively dropped in quality.

Why are you ‘attempting’ to get people to listen to the type of music you think they should be listening to, Farmer?

Let people listen to whatever they like, you snob.

You have serious issues.

All this started by someone calling me a snob for posting up obscure music. I have never insisted that anyone to listen to any of them - I have just spent my time on this thread defending myself from the snob accusation.

Obviously if I post them, then I want people to listen to them but I never insist that they do. These songs may not have been heard of before and people might like them.

Let it go Farmer.*

*You Snob.

Yeah, thats right, everyone else has the issue’s, never you, you condescending prick…

Feud alert feud alart

So this music snob myth extends across everything now does it?

“Alert”, Dunph. I meant “alert”. Cheers though, always constructive to see mods helping us mere mortals with our typos

Well I’d listen to Kid A and Amnesiac far more often than I would the bends. Both are superb albums that have loads of depth and longevity to them. The albums are really layered, well produced and simply fantastic music. Not necessarily song related albums and are great in their entirety. Also while you may not listen to them a lot sledge these albums sold well and were critically acclaimed. Kid A got to number two in America while Amnesiac got to number one and that is better than the Bends so wasn’t unpopular by any means. Also think its great that they make music that they find interesting themselves and don’t continue to make same type of album again and again.

Pretty sure Noel played the triangle in the second album…

Farmer hates Oasis
Farmer hates U2
Farmer dislikes Bruce Springsteen

I’m noticing a common theme there.
