It was put to Steve Coppell at some stage last season when Man U were on a mini run that Van Gaal was doing a good job. Coppell bluntly responded that he wasn’t. With their resources and the wages they were paying their players, the Coppell view was anything less than winning the title was underachievement. Same applies to Mourinho so far.

Sad to see a Man U fan turning on one of their own. You probably weren’t following Man U during the leaner years when Coppell was in his playing pomp.
Coppell is my all time favourite United player from my youth pal, career tragically cut short.
