The Burren Mount and Bailey Point sitting side by side on Salthills promenade.
The latter is a Celtic tiger beast that’s disintegrating badly year on year, passed the other day and plaster is starting to fall form the walls.
The Burren Mount is a Soviet style hotel built in the 1960s. Its long since closed for business but the owner has left it decked out as a hotel since.

Jaysus - It looks a nice day in Galway today.
UCD Orts Block, this won an award and all back in the 70’s. A shithole and an eyesore.

Achillhinge built by the unhinged bank defaulter Joe McNamara and still not removed.

The replacement plans are just as ugly.

Part of Gerry Barrets portfolio which is in the hands of NAMA from what I know. Currently being used as an overspill car park with nothing going on inside.
Would still thrive as a hotel if it could be put on the market.
Alternatively a conversion to student accommodation might work?

Joke…
Some wonderful Georgian buildings there, the oldest in Newtown Perry. We already lost a lot of these over the last 50 years, it will be a joke if they are let go into such a state that they fall or are pulled down.

This is just atrocious. It would be the longest stretch of Georgian houses in the world if that monstrosity wasn’t built. I believe they are now looking at putting a Georgian facade on the whole building but they’ll probably make a balls of that too.
