Strootman apparently flying into Rome this evening for a medical.
Strootman is in Rome right now.
Bandage, are you coming back?
Few updates needed.

[]De Sanctis has not signed yet but should do in the near future.
[]Gervinho looks a very likely signing as reports circulate that Arsenal have accepted an €8m bid and Sabatini is flying out to close the deal.
[]A move for Uruguayan starlet Gonzalo Bueno looks to be off due to a dispute between his current club and Roma over a payment for Nico Lopez.
[]We have been linked with Vlad Chiriches lately and he has issued a come and get me plea to Roma. He looks like an excellent defender, reminds me of a more technically proficient Chiellini
[*]Talk that the Gilardino-Borriello swap deal is back on.

I see Aldair’s old number has been taken back out of retirement and given to Kevin Strootman:clap:
We will start the new season away in Livorno.
The Rome derby will take place on matchday 4 and the Curva Sud will be closed for it.
Turns out the Curva Sud will not be closed for the first Rome derby of the season. It’s reported that we have taken Osvaldo off the market. Borriello has been left out of the squad that is touring the US so we are trying to get him off the wage bill. De Sanctis signed a two year deal last week and Gervinho is expected to sign with the next week or week after. If we could get another centre back in addition to Gervinho and keep the squad we have right now (less Borriello). I would be very content at how we have done in the transfer market this summer.

We would like an answer by Wednesday on whether you will be returning this season.
We beat the MLS All Stars 3-1 last night, Strootman was on target.

We have grown tired waiting for an answer from Bandage and he is not in our plans for the coming season.
If Kevin Strootman stays fit then I fully expect Roma to make the Champions League places this season
Totti looked in tremendous shape in the highlights there, his tan put all the others to shame too. He wants to play on until he is 40 and I also want him to do this.
Is Strootman capable of hitting double figures from midfield.
It depends on what role he is asked to play, but I would doubt it. He can play in an advanced/box to box role as he has a decent drive about him and likes coming onto the ball at pace but he is more suited/capable of playing a more disciplined holding role as he is strong in the tackle but also has a wonderful left foot on him. Van Gaal prefers him in the more disciplined role but Holland have plenty of attacking midfield options. He has an excellent delivery at set pieces too
What formation are Roma likely to play under Garcia and who is he likely to be partnered in midfield with?

It will definitely be a 4-3-3, similar in shape to Zeman’s Roma but less direct and more patient in its philosophy. De Rossi looks like he will be the holding midfielder in the formation which would mean Strootman and Pjanic/Bradley will be the two players flanking him in the middle three.
Gervinho is in Rome for a medical after a deal was agreed with Arsenal.

This is not a quick process, I have delegated one of our member to do a full background search where you will be vetted, this could take a while.
It impresses me that such detail & research is going to be carried out, its creates an aura of professionalism.
