How it should be
Good stuff on sunday. Not going with a singer was a great call.
Yes tremendous stuff.
Great to see the The TFK GAA Championship National Anthem Monitoring Commission Report being implemented in full last Sunday.
This commission has been a resounding success in what was only our first year in operation. Well done one and all.
I have not had a chance to comment on this but that singer was excruciating.
Cant wait to see how this goes todayā¦
I cant find the League National Anthem monitoring thread, so this will have to do.
Anyone hear the gowl in Galway today? Not only did he get all the words wrong, he just plain stopped singing lines in the middle of it and tried mumble along with the crowd.
Shocking stuff in Thurles last night. The casio keyboard recording was as poignant as ever in Cusack Park today.
Fucking pathetic anthem there in Pairc Ui Rinn.
pathetic to see wtb get so emotional about this overlty nationalist tradition
funny to see th gga play national anthems considering they are the most pro british of all sporting bodies in Ireland
All the classics should get the respect they deserve.
Casey fight. Oh dearā¦
Inevitable that somebody would bump thist hread after that dirge, however Iām surprised that you didnāt criticise the playing of national anthems at sporting events as inherently divisive and a deliberate alienation of the āotherā.
This has been dealt with. Please see above.
It has not
Nice version in Ballybofey this evening
Not a great rendition by the Sean Treacy Pipe Band, not helped by the small crowd.
The version we just got before the Clare-Cork game is possibly the worst version of the anthem Iāve ever heard. Your man couldnāt even sing.
Ridiculously flat.
As ever, this set the scene beautifully last night.
Iāve noticed a worrying trend in GAA matches where players are breaking from the huddle / lineup before the anthem has concluded. County Boards must be fined heavily for this.
