A very misleading headline. Almost flat out lies.
Is this from the taxis running people down to the place?
Seems their commercial director thinks she gets to decide that it’s a municipal stadium now.
They’re are doing it wrong so. A full house in Thomond with half the capacity was worth 10m to the local economy
All the whinging and moaning about the cost of Pairc Ui Chaoimh, and then you see this evenings spectacle in that setting in one of Irelands biggest cities. Whatever the opposite of a white elephant is, that was it this evening. And some fellas wanted Cork to do with a 20k stadium in some soulless, easy to drive to location. Worst of all the very same lads are making the same nonsense arguments against Casement Park. Some people don’t deserve nice things.
And there will be a bigger crowd again there Thursday night for Bruce Springsteen
It’s pretty simple. Pairc Ui Chaoimh was needed and it has the games, including from other sports, to justify such an investment.
Casement doesn’t have the games to fill it, bar Euro 2028 if built in time (which it probably won’t be) the other sports won’t go near it, and it isn’t needed.
Its a completely stupid comparison. Apples and orangemen.
That’s disappointing.
We’ll blame the Brits…
Great news. Time for Clones to step in. It would be an ICONIC venue for a Euro 2028 Round of 16 game between Italy and Sweden.
It’s going ahead, but probably won’t be ready in time, unless the Brits cough up fast.
That’s the long and the short of it…
For shame. Joe needs to sort this out.
Fantastic news
It seems increasingly likely that Sue is, in fact; in the 'RA
The same day as it’s announced H&W won’t be getting a further £200m bailout from Westminster. I see some Oireachtas report issued today calling for immediate preparations for Irish unification, someone needs to get a move on and at least get a thread started on it here.
Prediction;
Casement Park won’t be ready for Euro 28
Cork will step in.
Huge tourism boost, modern stadium, keeps games in Ireland, airport/port, Carkness
Just in time for the 5 in a row?
