The Galway Criticism Thread

Nembo is moving out of Galway because the city is falling apart.

Kinda yeah it’s the poor part but without the scenery.

A theme park of everything that is wrong about Oireland.

Bullet points please?

  • Crustys
  • Macnas

Yep, A dystopian nightmare of a place

don’t do it Totti

  • Not one decent sportsperson ever

Needless use of a second bullet point, one would have sufficed.

You’ve obvioulsy never seen Jack Donohue throwing a horseshoe mate.

City of Bohane is not too much of a stretch.

Or Andy Smith shitting himself against Kilkenny last year.

Buy a site. Build your dream house.

Purchase a shot gun.
Shoot all the visiting Travellers.

It’ll be like living up North all over again.

Limerick lads badly rattled by Galway. You couldn’t make it up.

look to move to somewhere between Caherdavin / Ennis Road / Cratloe. There is a very good road network between Limerick and the west of Ireland.

My problem with buying a site us I will have to:

A) be dealing with a lot of hassle like engineers, builders, architects etc
B) it will probably take about 2 years from mortgage date
C) I will have to continue paying extortionate rent while waiting for the house to be built. I’d likely have upwards of 15K wasted while waiting for the house to be built.

No comparison at all. Limerick is a City, galway is a town.

All true.

But to buy a modern, warm well insulated, open plan house which was properly built you are looking at spending over €300k. Whether the gap between renting or buying the site is all that different you’ll soon find out.

Plenty of houses can be bought in the €200k to €250k bracket but more than likely they’ll need another €50k spent on them getting them up to a modern spec.

Trying to purchase a house in the current climate is an absolute cunt, it really is a sellers market at the moment.

I have the greatest of respect for county Galway men.
