Nope. Shocking alright and still the city attracts the highest proportion of immigrants and tourists. I think the government are keeping shannon open instead to try keep limerick a going concern.
Galway has two airports within an hour of it, north and south.
No doubt the grubby paw prints of Michael Noonan are all over this.
I know that mate, but I was hoping to use Galway airport as a springboard to Connemara.

I’d agree with all of this. Once the city Western bypass goes in, galway airport will be irrelevant.
You need to put your petty squabbles aside gents, a city as great as Galway needs it’s own airport.

Galway is a small town surrounded by a large population. It doesnt need an airport as Shannon is 48 mins down the road and will be even closer once the bypass goes in. My mate can get to Shannon from Athenry in under 40 mins. Knock is only an hour the other way.
