I’d say it did. The tracksuit clan are famous for badgering sports people for good oul chats. Didn’t @backinatracksuit once spend a half an hour talking the head of a woman who had just come back from the Olympics and hadn’t seen her kids in about 6 weeks.

The Paul O’Connell thing is true though, the closest my missus has come to having a sporting hero (besides Ger Hegarty) was Lydia Roche. I’d struggle to think of a current Irish sportsperson that I’d be confident of her recognizing.

It’s the likes of @Mac, @padjo and @backinatracksuit I feel for — Having wives who are ‘avid’ supporters and try to initiate conversations around sport… cue Mac coming back and lashing out with - well at least she knows more than you etc. etc.

Mrs Mac has sourced 2 tickets for us for the Italy game mate. She won’t have a clue what’s going on at it and will shout at the ref for making wrong decisions even though she doesn’t really understand the rules. I plan on getting drunk before I get there so that this doesn’t irritate me and so the boring game will be tolerable.
