Sion Mills?
No, Derry side of Strabane.
On to Magherafelt now for the first time since 2013 now for the South Londonderry demonstration.
Cc of @glenshane
And look at that boat! A replica of the one William Of Orange himself arrived into Carrickfergus on.
Great to see the newly formed Ladies’ Lodge, “Daughters Of Ulster”, marching in Magherafelt.
Strong, strong women if ever there were.
Kilrea District No. 5 knocking it out the park with their piping.
The women out on force in Ballymena too.
Ballymena Golden Star LOL 491 celebrating 205 years in existence. Wow. What a tradition.
Helen Mark standing on beautiful Lough Erne, just across from Devinish island.
She’s telling us about Orange Peggy, who lived on Trasna Island.
And we have Gloria Verner, the great, great, great granddaughter of Orange Peggy!
Orange Peggy was christened in orange clothes, and never wore anything else except orange clothes!
And Gloria has never been to Trasna Island. Helen says “would you like to go?!”
This is magical.
And now we’re at the ruins of Orange Peggy’s house. This is incredible. What a woman Orange Peggy was. She had to effectively lead the life of a hunter gatherer, especially after her husband and son drowned. She lived alone for over 50 years. Gloria’s in tears here. And so are we.
Stunning overhead view of Ballinamallard here. Exceptionally beautiful countryside. We’re back in the village for the first time in 10 years.
A man there who is 71 years in the Orange Order, since 1952. Clearly he’ll have to die before Mayo can win the All-Ireland.
Sweet Caroline being played in Ballinamallard.
Crowds six or seven deep. The unmistakeable strains of There Is A Scottish Soldier bellow through the streets.
Back to Brownlow House in Lurgan. William Brownlow had deep connections to Orangeism but also gave his name to Australian Rules Football’s Brownlow Medal.
What a lifelike recreation of Queen Elizabeth there on that banner.
Incredible to think that this is the first 12th of July since her passing.
Great turnout there from the women of Tandragee.
Worrying news there about the future of the Belfast parade.
A lovely flavour of the cultural celebrations from across the province to play us out from what was as always a thoroughly enjoyable highlights package from the national broadcaster.
Goodbye Glorious Twelfth for another year.
They really need to extend the highlights package. There’s simply too much to pack into an hour.
Goodbye Glorious Twelfth.
It’s a good opportunity for GAAGO to take up the slack by offering live coverage of each demonstration on a pay per view basis with highlights and analysis that night on RTE 2. Rhonda Paisley has presented a Saturday night prime chat show on RTE 1 before and would be a good choice to fill the hot seat.
Would prods call it ‘the north’?
Any parades in Clough, Co. Down?
My friend from Loughlinisland said that place is like Kabul.
Lookit, someone has to take the Church of England seriously.
