Hopefully he’s okay. Between myself and the missus here, we’d know families of two killed off horses in last few years and a good friend of ours, very experienced horseman who was paralysed from the neck down in a freak fall on a hunt. Stating the obvious but it really is highly dangerous if you fall off them.
Who’d have thought that the Liverpool police would be incompetent?
There was a woman killed mounting a horse in Galway last week.
Hopefully the horses who survived get a couple of pints and brandys into them tonight to calm them down.

That comment from @Mac on the other horse racing thread was in very poor taste. Does he not know that a horse lost his life in the Grand National today?
If a tree falls in a forest, and there’s no one around to hear it, does it make a sound? Horses die everyday.
These horses are treated and cared for better than some people in Ireland and the UK.
Get busy living or get busy dying, they live a good and eventuful life for the brief time they are around. It is an awful shame when a animal dies but we all got to go, why not while doing something you love? They’re born to run and race.
Oh he knows alright, not knowing before the race how many will die adds to the excitement apparently

“Our horse got very distressed before the race but instead of withdrawing him we decided we had our money spent at that stage so sent it hurtling down to the 1st fence anyway” - the trainer should surely have sat on the dead animal for a while and considered a more sensible defence of their actions.

Some poor horse nearly got badly injured on one of the ladders the crustys needlessly brought to the racecourse
So anger about this but not about the 3 dead horses
