The Americans have it right - if you’re a citizen you pay tax no matter where you reside.
Our non-residents travel the world enjoying the freedom brought by an Irish passport but refuse to contribute to society in any way but on their own self aggrandising terms.

Yeah, am sure the govt would put the same take in taxes off him and add it directly to the well run abuse shelters, addiction centres, training centres, palliative care centres and other things they’ve such a great handle on.

I’d love to decide exactly where my tax money went. I could decide it went to Dundalk Dog Rescue instead of propping up horseracing and greyhound industries. Unfortunately, I don’t have that luxury.
