The Green shit Party - Backtracking to get things done- now incorporating waste of monies by FG

I’m glad you agree.

Natural gas fields within Ireland discovered under FF FG provide heat to about 700,000 Irish homes.

Most wind farms were built under the same parties.

What’s the specific plan without natural gas? You can’t just turn it off unless you have an alternative. At the moment there is no alternative that fills the gap.

What do you think will happen when monthly energy bills cost more than the old age pension?

They announced investment in 2021 so as to ensure the gas isn’t switched off before we handle 100% renewables

They don’t know what they are doing. The same brains who said diesel cars were the way forward are jeopardising Ireland’s energy security and condemning old people to choose heating over eating.

" we are running out of gas because of the greens"

" the greens are panicking that we are going to run out of gas and putting in a back up plan"

Where else are we getting gas? We should import franked gas, it makes no difference. We can either use that or pay through the nose either way its needed during g the transition. The greens have not present one long term plan to move over other than saying stopping coal by 2030 or net zero 2050 etc. We should be building a nuclear power plant to be fully operational by 2050 to eliminate the requirement for gas etc.

And what is the biggest requirement to support wind energy infrastructure? Natural gas. The fact we have ignored our gas turbines is also leaving us in the shit too

You don’t get it do you?

New gas-fired power plants to ‘bridge gap’ to renewables (irishtimes.com)

Thanks, I was unaware. The next issue is supply. Fracking is not ideal and outlawed in ireland. We shouldn’t ban imports. We need to ensure we have a secure supply without restriction ourselves and be hit in the pocket. That’s short term.

Medium term we need to encourage the production and phasing in biogas. At this stage we should also be putting in a target of 20% biogas in the natural gas system in 2030 (correct me if this is not already in place) with an annual increase of 3% to 2035 with further increases as the supply can meet the overall gas demand. 2050 should be a hard stop for natural gas an is achievable.

For me I would like to see a plan outlined that we are stopping using coal/peat/petrol by x date. But to do this we need to increase electricity output by x to replace the energy requirements of these fuels. Wind alone won’t do it but can be a majority of the mix. Again gas is only a transition we need to replace it also, I don’t think biogas will be enough.

What’s the likely work needed for average house to get it to B2 energy rating

Depends

Sell it.

Build a new house

get a quote mate

All joking aside….

What the current BER on house?
What level of insulation does it currently have?
How old is the house?
What’s your Eircode?

I was asking in context of the scheme just announced by the Government rather than for myself, at this juncture, specifically.

dont waste my time you cunt
