When I was in college the exams were in January and I would be looking for any excuse not to study and would tie in with the World Championships, Iād often watch the bowls for hours. It was strangely hypnotic or something
Bowls was a staple on the calendar back in the days of little live sport on TV, Iād say anyone here in their 40s would have spent time watching

Iād a pal who at about 16 played rep in Oz! Said the only competition was geriatrics and there was a good few bob in it going around lawn bowls.places and sharking pensioners!
