He has bags of talent, but has suffered a “difficult second album” shall we say. Also got caught up in the wrong news stories and didn’t help that he was at a club like Villa this season. I think he’ll be fine, but he could have done without the circus around him over the past 12 months. A season in the Championship might not do him any harm, a good advisor wouldn’t go astray either.

As for the Irish squad, worse players have made it in the past, but again, his past 12 months would have worked against him. There’s also question marks over his attitude, but he’s a kid so deserves a small bit of slack.
