The Jack Grealish Thread

Iā€™d imagine heā€™d have been notified beforehand, so he could have said ā€œwoahā€. Also, he only played 2 games so the award is basically a load of bollox in terms of merit. If he was going playing for England heā€™d surely have told the blazers not to be so daft.

Youā€™re assuming a lot there.

Grealish is correct to wait for England.

He would be a mug to declare for ireland at this moment in his career and the only reason he is even weighing it up right now is because he naively threw his lot in with ireland when he was a kid assuming he would never make englands radar. Thats changed now so common sense must prevail.

let him go lads.

I have no issue with a fella born in England declaring for England, its just disappointing he continues to show a bit of leg to the boys who are so desperate for him to fall in.

its time to let him go.
energy will be required here for when he turns back into a brit and they will need that energy for all the online abuse they will need to aim at him.

I cant believe you think lads on here would be that fickle.

The strong likelihood is that Eire are not going to qualify for a World Cup again in the natural lifespan of anybody on this forum so why should he write off his chances of ever playing in one at the age of 20?

Because according to the lads on here he sees himself as Irish. Isnt that what all this is about?

ye, especially when he is english and england have a good chance of playing in 3 or 4 over his career

Let him declare for whoever the fuck he wants to declare for, which is clearly going to be England.

+1.

Thatā€™s why Iā€™ve been relatively silent on this issue, pal.

Energy and hatred conservation.

 you are years at it bandage, fucking years at it.

Iā€™m merely trying to soften the blow for the lads who cannot see what is about to happen.

McCarthy from what i recall took a long while of mulling things over as well before he decided which side to take, and McGeady was insistent to play for Ireland from the start? Or was it other way round?

Itā€™s a big decision to be fair and he is right to take his time. He will play in big touraments and world cups if he is good enough to make it with England. Ireland are probably odds against making a world cup in next 16yrs so by declaring with us he will be destined to do nothing on an international stage and will have the knowledge of amassing probably close to 100 caps if he remains good, going to away trips and slogging out 0-0 draws with Albania.

Association football in this country is fucked. Eire hasnā€™t produced one decent player in this millennium. Thereā€™s no interest in the domestic league and thereā€™s little more interest in the national team these days and I fully expect them to be complete also-rans for the foreseeable future.

I canā€™t recall any glaring evidence of hatred conservation.

GGA has won!

Interesting dilemma for the da, if he is also his agent.
Surely more cash to be made playing for England.

Plus isnā€™t his father English born also?

Dunno. Iā€™d never heard of any of them until a few days ago when all this shite started. I would refer posters to the quote of the week*

*decade by now.
