In fairness, Naas GAA circles havenât really served the county team great. Looking at what Na Piarsaigh did for Limerick hurling, they need to fall in and get behind them. That was a savage win for Kildare today.
Backwards gang
And hurling in Nass run and inspired by two Laois men. Oh the horror
Delighted for Kildare. Would know alot who have soldiered there as well as the current crew.
Theyâve actually had better teams in the past but never had individuals at such a high standard of Burke, Leacy, Qualter and the Borans. Keegan is class, saw him run amok in railway cup around 2016.
Are Cellbridge still decent or leaning more towards football now? They almost beat MLR in a Leinster intermediate final a couple of years before Rangers won the senior.
Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory vs Carrickshock in another final.
They are a semi final team at best now. Rebuild mode. Good lads all 40+ now bar Gerry Keegan. Think they had a good scatter of minors this year
A great day in Croker.
Even more special to have a relative involved. Hon Kildare.
Nah not really. I lived there for 5 years and hurled there.
Very happy to see them progress. Has been in the works a long while. Whether this elevates hurling in the eyes of Kildare administrators is unlikely in my opinion.
Their Naas and friends team has been built on huge work at Naas, Maynooth, Celbridge and beyond.
Naas playing underage in Kilkenny was an outside the box idea that shouldnât have worked but really has shown the quality of underage hurling in Kildare is comparable with counties at the top table.
Kildare vs Dublin in Newbridge could be kind of interesting.
Heâs not really tho. Not their best forward and over the last two years when up against good defenders like Conor McHugh and Hugh Lawlor he wasnât able to them.
Heâs def gone ahead of the chasing pack after this. Good record with KK camogie aswell. Completely different management style to Lyng. Players person id say.
They have gone downhill alot in the last number of years. Won the last game of the year this year to stay up in Div 1. Won the Minor A last week I believe so should be improving.
Last time they won it Gerry Keegan was a minor.
Kerry bate them in the first round and end up in Christy Ring while Kildare will play in Leinster next year.
Stretch out the competition by an extra couple of weeks and play it before and All Ireland semi. Both teams today have zero interest in playing next wkd. Almost cruel on Kildare.
Cruel but a great free hit too. Dublin in Newbridge is a lovely shot at nothing.
Dublin will bate them by 20 points. Kildare will be beering till Wed. Dublin know them well. The Dublin coach was with Kildare for the last 5 years. They have played about 3/4 challenges so far this year.
The Joe Mc teams being added in here is a joke. Tipp will hammer Laois by 30 points
Iâd say the recriminations in the Laois camp over the next 24 hours will be vicious - I expect epic bloodletting, on the back of Cha and Rowland too.
Kildare can beer all they like, this weekend is a great opportunity and momentum is a great asset. Dublin are no great shakes no matter how theyâre dressed up and Kildare should thrive in a tight Cedral Park. This is their time, theyâd be fools not to take a run at it.
Laois Tipp could be 40
That and Kildare with 2 promotions in a row suggests we can probably get rid of one of the tiers entirely, which would both freshen things up and be a small sign of progress.
He would def be a players man. Has built up a fair old cv between today, the camogie win as well as a few all Irelands with Kierans. Iâd inagine he will stay with them for another year at least. Olg or a KK 20s team would probably be the next step
Edit: Meant to reply to @peddlerscross
100% agree. Someone asked me what the bookies will set the Dublin / Kildare handicap at. Thought 12 is where it should be but if theyâre boozing all week itâll be even worse. its not even a week theyâre getting either. Didnât Offaly and Carlow have 7 days last year as the Joe MC was on the Saturday?
Laos and Offaly contested the JMcD last year
