I think it’s fairly common knowledge now at this stage that the Republican party have moved heaven and earth to suppress allegations against him and railroad the nomination through at any cost. They’ve been literally shamed into granting this investigation because Jeff Flake by pure chance ran into protestors in a lift and perhaps felt a qualm of conscience, or perhaps saw a good PR opportunity.
The Republicans have played this quite well. For the entire day yesterday Democrats ranted about the need for an FBI investigation. By conceding to them at the last minute Republicans are seen as being fair, as of course they didn’t have to do it and could have pressed ahead. Nothing like throwing a bone to a dog in politics.
A win for moderates at the end of the day, but there’s no pleasing the lunatics on the left. Expect a clamor now that the committee have to conduct another investigation as the FBI can’t be trusted.
Just reading the new York Times there and they seem to now be saying even if if the FBI find he has case to answer he shouldn’t be nominated because of his performance yesterday. The goal posts have shifted. It’s fascinating stuff.
The Democrats will do everything possible to delay, calling for an FBI investigation was just another tactic. Grant them that and they will move on to the next tactic, it’s politics after all. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if they hired the two screeching snowflakes that launched the tirade against Flake this morning. The lunatic left have always been in favor of mob rule of course, being Bolsheviks at heart.
The rank and file of the FBI and DOJ are fine people by and large. The problems lie with senior partisan officials getting politicized (either party) and deciding their role is to influence the outcome of elections.
Blasey Ford’s attorney, the Democratic operative Debra Cats recommended by batshitcrazyFeinstein, has come out and said any FBI investigation should not be limited by time or scope, but should continue forever.
The Democrats are clearly not politically motivated of course.
