The League of Ireland thread

Avg attendance was 1987 across all 5 divisions. Very very poor.

how many were in the aviva when dk played legia in 2016 the day pat hickey was arrested for a CL qualifier? 30k +?
if we had a team playing CL groups like say munster or leinster then you can compare to rugby with the champions cup, etc

Had a chat with LoI legend John Caulfield as we both boarded in Cork bound for Manchester. Sound skin. Team going over for a few days training and a pre season game. Said themselves and Dundalk again but Shamrock Rovers will be very strong this year.

Oil money coming west!

After this takeover deal, Shamrock Rovers Ultras or any yobs supporting any other teams won’t dare cause any trouble down here - they’ll be lagged into the punishment room and have their hands cut off.

What a signing for City.

Class act, will make City even harder to break down

I wonder will he turn out for St Michaels??

I would say 50-50

Caufield less flexible on that than he used to be.

Great guy, met him a few time back around his 1st stint there and when he was with Cork Minors

Would have played for 12-14 years and been an multiple all star if he stayed with Gaelic.

Carved out an superb career in England though. Serious pro

No fear of Patrick Kanyuka being mentioned on that list anyway.

I know that those lists are hard to do but McEleney is way way too low.

Good top 10 in fairness

Anti cork bias. George o Callaghan and Roy o Donovan should be much higher.
