The long and bumpy road to Super Bowl XLVII

I find recording Redzone on Sky is the job

It pisses me off that you canā€™t sky plus it though

You can record it. Its on a hidden channel something like 1027. Discoverd it by accident last year and was delighted.

I thought you could record it, just press the record button for when the program is starting, and it gives you the option of recording the game or redzone. Can you sky plus it on your hidden channel?

You can indeed, either or. As you say you can also record it by selecting the programme on the EPG whereby the choice comes up to record the sky coverage or redzone. What I find very handy with the hidden chanel is that you can flick between TV and redzone without waiting for Sky interactive to fire up.

Really? Sweet, didnā€™t even know there were hidden channels. Iā€™ll be tuning into that next Sunday.

Oh Iā€™m excited.

Hugh Heinz.

Cmaaaaaaaaan!!!

Dallas Cowboys.

Good idea if you donā€™t like post season football.

Cā€™man football! Cannot wait for this game. MetLife will be rockin tonight.

BBC website says BBC are showing Monday Night Football on the red button. Is that as well as ESPN showing it then?

Cā€™maaaaannnnnnnnn!!!

:guns: :guns: :pint: :pint:

Leaving work in 50 mins. Slip home, put on my Super Bowl souvenir Elite Manning jersey, hugh heinz in Peter Dillonā€™s with some fellow G-Men (and Flano), hugh heinz on the train, hugh heinz in the car park, sing the anthem. Lovely.

No, looks like there will be no NFL on ESPN. And that red button lark, is it available in the ROI?

Fucking terrible news :frowning: I bet that uber cunt Colin Murray will present it.

Iā€™m not doing a preview this year because they are like 10000 words and I simply couldnā€™t be arsed.
Iā€™m playing wait and see with SuperBowl winner. There are a number of contenders and nobody really stands out for me. I like the look of the Texans but their WR corps remain a worry.
Iā€™ll see what I like after a few weeks. I am doing a load of other bets and here is breakdown of what Iā€™m doing and whyā€¦
[15 points total outlay]

Bet 1: Julio Jones ā€“ Most Receiving Yards
Bookie: YouWin
Odds: 20/1 [Now 8/1 with them ]
Points: 1.25 [Free bet]
Reasoning: He looked amazing in preseason and at the end of last season. 20/1 is a great price.

Bet 2: Jamaal Charles ā€“ Most Rushing Yards
Bookie: Bet365
Odds: 18/1
Points: 1
Reasoning: He was injured at the start of last season so has had a full year to get right. He was 2[sup]nd[/sup] to Foster in 2010 with 1400 yards on 220 carries. His Yards-Per-Carry is ridiculous.

Bet 3: Miami Dolphins ā€“ Worst Record
Bookie: Bet365
Odds: 14/1
Points: 1
Reasoning: They were terrible in preseason. Watching Hard Knock players donā€™t look that interested in playing for Philbin.

Bet 4: Tom Brady - MVP
Bookie: YouWin
Odds: 7/1
Points: 1.25
Reasoning: Their schedule is easy. They play the NFC West and AFC South. Brady has 4 top notch targets in Lloyd, Welker, Gronk and Hernandez.

Bet 5: Luke Kuechly ā€“ Defensive Rookie of The Year
Bookie: YouWin
Odds: 7/1
Points: 1.25
Reasoning: He is a tackling machine. Carolina expecting big things from him.

Bet 6: Drew Brees ā€“ Most Passing Yards
Bookie: PaddyPower
Odds: 5/1
Points: 1.5
Reasoning: Defense dealing with the Bountygate. Will be behind more and will throw a lot.

Bet 7: Andrew Luck ā€“ Offensive Rookie of the Year
Bookie: Ladbrokes
Odds: 7/2
Points: 2
Reasoning: I think he is the most NFL ready of the rookie QBs. If RGIII can stay away from getting pummelled he has a chance but the league is better suited to Luck. RGIII is a lot smaller than Newton.

Bet 8: New England Patriots ā€“ 12+ wins
Bookie: Bet365
Odds: 6/5
Points: 5
Reasoning: Again, their schedule is easy. They play the NFC West and AFC South. Brady has 4 top notch targets in Lloyd, Welker, Gronk and Hernandez.

Bet 9: Matt Barkley (USC) ā€“ Heisman Trophy Winner.
Bookie: Bet365
Odds: 10/3
Points: 2.25
Reasoning: Easy schedule and lots of starters returning.

Hate the Jamaal Charles bet. Peyton Hillis will eat into his carries and Iā€™d be surprised if he cracked the top 5.

Iā€™ve had a cut at Nick Perry at 18/1 for defensive rookie of the year. Heā€™s got a starting job nailed down in an aggressive Green Bay defense that should provide him with plenty of sacks.

Dwayne Bowe seems like a bit of a character from the short clip.

What do you mean Brian?

Well that was disappointing. Giants D was very porous and the wide receivers couldnā€™t catch the ball.

The more knowledgable football fans around me also felt the stand-in referees were poor.

Could be a long season for Big Blue if that game is anything to go by.
