Itâs true what they say, a Peyton past his prime is still on a totally different level to Rivers or 80 to 90% of QBâs in their prime.
When you consider that more or less all Chargers points came pretty much straight from Denver mistakes, tonight coule really be the making of Broncoâs season
Broncos special teams almost made a complete mess of everything. Odd decision to start a guy who was only signed as a kick off returner last Wednesday, especially when there were question marks over his ball security.
When the defence got going, and not starting in the red zone, everything changed and Peyton got it done. The rushing attack still seems a bit one dimensional but Hillman is continuing to show signs of rapid progress.
The telling factor here will be how the Chargers react to the such a psychological loss have been so far in front. Rivers never really seemed in control and completely lost it once under a bit of pressure.
The AFC West is the Broncos to lose now with the more difficult non-divisional opponents out of the way. Kansas are woeful and the Raiders are worse.

that was some strange game. The muffed punt and kickoff, INT return, Denver were throwing the game away. They even forced a fumble but lost the recovery to concede a first down. But then it all fell apart on the chargers. Rivers was awful. Some of his throws were abysmal. never gave his receiver a chance and it was an easy read for defenders then. That win should kick on Denvers season, and they should win their divsion now.

Double coverage mainly and Manning was using the other slots more. Decker and Stokley were the main targets he was getting joy from.

Only catching up on the news about Juan Castillo now. About fucking time he got the bullet. He was wrecking my head last season and was one of the main reasons I switched my allegiance to the Giants from last November onwards. Coach Reid remains on dodgy ground too though. Vick continues to be all over the place and hasnât been helped by injuries on the offensive line. Joke on Sunday with the new center snapping the ball back when he wasnât even looking.
Kelce is a massive loss. So is peters. Jackson is being under used. And so is McCoy and havili in goal line situations. No use going pass crazy there when your quarterback canât look off defenders. Asomghua has turned to rubbish once he got paid. And not enough ball security all round. Obviously Castillo was clueless but there hasnât been a huge score put up in any game yet, so problems all over.
anyone have any logical reason why the niners refused to take the safety with 40 odd seconds on the clock that would have put them 9 points up? seemed a really odd move. maybe Harbaugh preferred to just kneel the ball instead of letting Seattle take the free kick. Just seems odd as 9 points absolutely guarantees the win. shit game too, just constant run plays and 3 and outs. usually the condensed gamepass takes over half an hour. because the ball was ran so much it wasnt much longer than 25 minutes to watch the whole game.
