EYep, think it’s still called The Gasworks. Stayed at that hotel for work a few times in last few months so popped down to the bar.
The O’Donnells placed was sold during the summer. So either GBB bought it direct or are leasing it from a new owner. I know a lad who does some brewing with him and he indicated that their intention was to open quite quickly but when they realised the amount of work that had to be done, they said it wouldn’t be until early this year. Sure if you’re not going to be open for Christmas you might as well wait a few months.

Not a great spot either way. Really think Bourke’s would be ideal for that kind of venture with the hipster crowd already in the area between tom Collins & Nancy’s but if they reckoned Blind Pig was too big then Bourke’s definitely would be. That place used to be hopping 00/01.

Downstairs was a dingy basement venue that then turned into a coffee shop. I liked Dr johns upstairs which then turned into a cocktail bar that I never went to

Used to drink them a lot about ten years ago. Caused a lot of farting and hangovers.

Same as that, they were one of the first Czech beers available and they were/are lovely, I used to pick them up from Macs offie on the Ennis road and look all cultured when I took them out, but fucking hell the hangovers were electric.

@turenne, if you like strong Belgian style beers then try gulden Draak and malheur. Two monster beers. Closer to wine though in terms of alcohol and how fast you’d drink them.

Not a craft beer obviously but draft moretti is a lovely beer, had a few of these in two recently reopened pubs in Limerick city last night.
