Fuck Tipp
Wicklow Wolf IPA is decent as well - you can get it in 500ml bottles, 440ml cans or 330ml cans as well. I’ve actually never tried the McGargles stuff and assumed it was muck, I’ll be giving it a twist based in your recommendation.
Kinnegar can be hard enough to find, don’t think any of the major supermarkets do it.
On mcgargles I’d recommend the session IPA. There’s a purple bottle IPA that’s not bad to be fair but the session is lovely IMO.
My missus is from Wickla so I’ve had the Wicklow Wolf a few nights on a night out, but tis rough going I found, the head would be hopping off me the following day. I see they’ve a range now but I haven’t tried anything other than the standard IPA and I wasn’t a major fan, but that was on draft so it might not have been well used.
Kinnegar isn’t in supermarkets but I’ve found it in a good few places in limerick so long as they’d have a decent selection
Dunnes were doing 6 cans (330ml) of the Franciscan well range for 10 euro…picked up 4 pale ale and 2 red… Usually 3 euro a pop.
The red ales are pure piss, only oddballs in cork like them
The Rebel Red is nice in a pint. That chieftain one is tasty too
The little box of cans is a handy number when you’re picking up a few bits and have no bag on you, Brewdog do the same. I’m surprised more of the breweries don’t do it.
In fairness, what would know much about?
Yeah the chieftain one is much nicer.
I’ve tried red ales a few times mostly through accident and they are rotten.
Hard beat Kinnegar products . Hard get though .
The thread should have just been locked when I told ye kinnegar were the best beers in Ireland about five years ago.
Yes but everyone thinks you’re a stones so no one gave a shite
Did either of them point out that they were the nicest beers in Ireland?
I was drinking their Scraggy Bay on draught in Walsh’s in Stonybatter during the week. Lovely tack but you pay for it the next day. I was shook after 5 pints of the stuff.
