Horsebox, I recommend attending on Sunday - I think it’s an attractive double header.

Fair enough, Wexford and Meath are mid-ranking teams but they both tend to play attacking football and each has a clutch of skillful players. Expecting a high scoring game free of the defensive, stifling tactics seen elsewhere already this season.

The other game is pretty intriguing. Kildare have been touted for big things in recent years without really delivering. Could they produce something special now when they appear to be much less favoured? Dublin seem to be well ahead in Leinster and look a fairly slick machine. Still, you never know and they also have to cope with the huge disadvantage of playing at home.

Should be a good crowd in too so promises to be a decent day.
I agree with that but I suppose my real dilemma is I have been offered freebies to go with work people and I really do not like spending my free time socialising with work people-much like Batman and Bruce Wayne, I like to keep my work world and my social world as far apart as possible.

For what it is worth, I think that Dublin will beat Kildare by 3 to 5 points and I fear that you will be commiserating with chums rather than celebrating come Sunday evening mate.:frowning:

got a better offer mate…sometimes its hard being such a well liked figure in dublin gaa circles…anyway I knew those animas from wexfordl would try to turn the hurling match into a war…its was clear from their behavior in wexford park they had gone back to the dark ages…glad I didn’t go…

Don’t mind Croke Park Sunday, the weather will be perfect for Beer Garden sneering. Shur you can watch the match on a big screen.
Don’t think I’ll be out and about too late after the games on Sunday as I’m undertaking a spot of international business travel next Monday and Tuesday, mate.

I’ll be interested to see the extent of Jason Ryan’s influence on Kildare’s approach to the Dublin game. He had a particular theory about the importance of slowing the game down against Dublin and stopping them from gaining momentum via quick bursts of scores. This resulted in lots of lateral and backwards passing in Wexford’s last few championship games against Dublin where we looked to retain the ball and take the sting out of the game. It was obviously a response to the massacre in 2008 and we were close to beating you in ’10, ’11 and ’12 without getting over the line in any of them.

Still, it was painful to watch at times, especially when we lost possession cheaply in the process. I wouldn’t mind giving the ball away trying something constructive but it was frustrating when we were holding it for the sake of it without looking to do anything positive and then we’d give a dodgy pass and lose it in our own half. Almost defending via possession - Totti was enraged when Barcelona did this. Maybe they were copying Jason Ryan?
Kildare could easily beat Dublin on sunday mate…they are due one big performance and like you said Ryan knows how to frustrate dubs…kildare would match anyone for fitness…bit of luck and who knows…

I have a big one planned for the weekend pal-herself is going home for the weekend and myself and some chums are undertaking an ambitious attempt to watch the Lions match but from Friday night side as opposed to Saturday morning side if you get my meaning:eek: so there’s a good chance my weekend will be spent sleeping in beer gardens and drinking in my bedroom.

Although I’ve already said that I think Dublin will win, I wouldn’t be surprised if Kildare win this. With the amount of stick they have gotten in the last 2 years with the Seanie Johnston stuff, chokers, anti-McGeeney brigade, etc I would expect that this will galvanise the squad and you know they will be fit as fuck anyway.

Either way I have covered a few bases so I will most likely be able to say that I was right all along come Sunday evening.

What was hurling like in the dark ages mate?

dark.

I’d say you’ll be out for the count by 1am. Planning something like that is always a bad idea. If it happens, it should happen organically.

That’s weak mate, almost as weak as your wumming today. At least you’re consistent.

but still you follow my every move around here…go figure…freak…

Would you believe I’m bringing herself down to meet the parents for the first time, this weekend?

You wouldn’t? Nah, me neither. But it’s true. If we stay over we’re going to arrange with Mac and his missus to introduce us to the north Wexford swinging scene on Saturday night.

Well the black card is designed to cut he blocking right out, is it not one of the prescribed offences? One block and your out

The boys on Championship Matters know the score

Who were the other two lads that weren’t Collie Moran?

For once, we are in full agreement Sidney. It is a rogue element of the group pushing this agenda so I will suss the lie of the land around 2am and most likely slink off to bed, get up have a big breakfast watching the match and then go back :pint:for the afternoon.
