Sandpaper Smith out for 93. Jimmy Anderson picks up the wicket.
383/6
Heroic innings from skipper Smith who averages over 70 as captain.
He has the right tools for the job.
7/390 Anderson strikes to remove Carey.
Match really drifted in that session. England look exhausted in the field and were going through the motions until that late double strike from Jimmy. Surprised Australia didn’t put the foot down and accelerate the batting. Run rate only 2.77.
England out of reviews.
Neser putting on a show now.
Declaration coming shortly
England getting battered here by Starc and Neser who are chancing their arm and swinging wildly.
This is where you’d really miss Archer or even Wood to clean up the tail.

Neser goes for one slog too many and Broad takes the catch in the outfield.
Neser out. A fine 35 from Michael. Well played mate

Steve Smith laughing his head off is terrific to watch

Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi
SIX from Richardson. 9 off 2 balls. Australia piling on the pain
They’ll have at least two and a half days to bowl them out twice which is ample. I reckon a win by an innings.
Having said that none of the people involved in the sandpaper should be playing
AUSTRALIA DECLARE @ 9/473.
@Little_Lord_Fauntleroy predicted 9/471. If Richardson hit a 4 instead of a 6, he’d have been on the money
We really need to get to stumps with no more than 1, maybe 2 (if it’s the night watchman) wickets down. This is going to be very tough after nearly two full days in the field in sweltering conditions and such a flawed batting line up. Could easily see this at something like 50/5 at stumps.
