Crawley on his way. Both openers gone inside 8 overs.
Thanks for the readable format mate
Root and Malan need a hundred run partnership here.
you are welcome
Leading edge for an opener is just awful. Whatever about a nick to first slip, that choice of stroke from Crawley was more like a tail ender.
Slow looking pitch here mate, I reckon England 180 all out.
BOUNDARY
Root looks in good nick here. Any batsman can lose their wicket to a snorter unplayable delivery. Outside of that though, I reckon Joe is going to score big here.
Malan out to Cummins in the last over before lunch. 61/3 and lunch is called.
And Root just after bringing up his 50 gives it away to Starc trying to run a lazy one outside his off stump down past third man. Thatās an awful stroke yet again when he was set.
82/4
Ben Stokes. Considering match position and his importance to hang around at all costs, it was possibly worst English dismissal of the lot in series. What a pitiful effort.
Jos Butler just joining him after another brainfart
Pitiful from England.
The three senior batsmen Root, Stokes and Buttler all just gave their wickets away.
An innings defeat looks an inevitability.
England want out of there.
Their senior players want back to the IPL.
The only reason I can see that Australia didnāt enforce the follow on in the last test for a comfortable innings victory was financial.
Spirited knock from England. Just couldnāt get that big partnership going. Big chance to knock over some early wickets tomorrow with the out of form Harris and the nightwatchman in. Marnus and Smith a massive obstacle but some bulldog spirit from Jimmy should do the job. Nicely poised.
Itās a damning indictment of the ECB. First class cricket and the County Championship have been pushed to the margins for over a decade now and are barely played at the height of the summer anymore. Itās all big bash, pyjama nonsense.
The farce that is playing out in Australia at the moment is the inevitable endgame.
Positive Covid test in the England camp has put the continuance of the Melbourne test into jeopardy.
All clear given and play will commence at midnight
