Boland joining in namesakes John Pius and Willie John in the sporting annals.
I think maybe England should compete in some sort of Ashes equivalent of the Tailteann Cup.
The Ashes retained before the NFL starts. This is shaping up to be quite the day.

Game set and match
A trouncing
Massacre. The poms will play the covid card to get out of a 4th timbering.
Let’s get the schooners in boys. Well in.
A PCR Test Match?
Pom Cricket Rejects?
That’s been obvious for a few years now.
The only positive likely to come out of this is that the scale of the embarrassment and hidings over the first three tests is likely to result in a serious overhaul of the domestic game in England. There has been growing anger within the cricket community in England for a number of years now over the downgrading and rejection of test cricket by the ECB. There will be blood on the walls over this national humiliation and heads will roll.
We saw that type of overhaul in Australia after a number of years of awful results culminating in three innings defeats during the 2010/11 Ashes and indeed in the early 00’s in England after a torrid decade in the 1990’s and dropping to the bottom of the test rankings.
They play county in April when pitches are unplayable and have given summer up to one day. The biggest problem is a lack of decent openers but what chance do they get? I don’t see it changing. The money is in one day and India call the shots.
Australia barely play any test cricket either so it should all be equal. A pitiful effort from England. I couldn’t believe it when I woke up and saw they’d slumped to 10/68.
The weather is getting worse too. Cricket is struggling to survive in tanland I reckon.
And England have been generally strong in white ball cricket and the ECB have spent a lot promoting the Hundred. The County game is full of journeyman Saffers playing under the Kolpak rule and there is too little talent spread between too many teams.
Well if you think you can get a three or four day game in April you are dreaming. It’s a summer game.
Stuart Broad for the injured Ollie Robinson the only change for the 4th test which gets under way at the Sydney Cricket Ground tonight.
The batting line up that was bowled out for 185 and 68 in Melbourne retained en masse.
Khawaja for Covid postive Head the only change for Australia.
Australia won the toss and elected to bat in Sydney. Plenty of rain about and they’re off again after 5 overs.
Australia 8/0
Century for Fat Usman.
Australia declare on 8/416.
England survive a wicket off a no ball and reach 13 without loss.
A resolute first wicket stand from England to negotiate those 5 overs to stumps.
Five for Stuart Broad. Madness to leave him out for the first test in Brisbane which set the tone for the whole series.
England 22/0 to 36/4.
They just went 54 minutes there, 70 deliveries without scoring a run while losing 3 of those wickets.
