Robinson. Who should be batting higher than 11 but was retired from the bowling attack early yesterday with back spasms.
181/8
Three 4’s in a row from Stokes to end the over. He’s up to 40.
A few years ago they were getting out for stupid shots and the line was “it’s the way that I play”. I don’t see how Bazball is any different. Not picking Foakes ahead of that fat cunt Bairstow is negligence.
197/8.
Runs and byes just flowing now. 55 runs in 20 minutes since lunch. Deficit down to 66.
Stokes skies one and routine catch dropped by Starc at the boundary. Even Starc couldn’t try and claim he caught that one like he did at Lord’s.
Broad out. 199/9.
Murphy the new spinner to take on Stokes now and the first two deliveries are both 6’s
211/9
230/9
Stokes last man out on 80 to get England to 237 and cut the first innings deficit to just 26, when it looked all morning like it would be a three figure deficit. He’s kept England in the match just about for the moment anyway.
I would suspect this is a good batting track now though, which England essentially wasted this morning. I reckon England will be chasing a big target.
And for the 17th time, Broady picks up the wicket of his bunny, Warner. You could set your clock by it.
11/1
England need something special from Wood to save this
Game on.
Butterfingers is a lucky boy. That was about his worst dropped catch yet. Brook bails him out very next delivery with a good catch. Lazy shot from Labuschagne.
68/2
Great for Moeen to get Sandpaper out so cheaply for his 200th test wicket.
72/3
90/4
Woakes picks up the wicket of Khawaja.
Series winning partnership coming up here I feel for Australia. Both look well set.
Convicts 116/4 at stumps.
Wood bowled some spell this afternoon without any reward wicket wise. Just 12 runs conceded in 10 overs. That built up the pressure though.
The last 3 test matches at Headingley have seen targets of 359, 322 and 296 successfully chased down to win. Leicestershire chased down 389 to beat Yorkshire in a County Championship match earlier in the summer.
Root apart I don’t see a mark butcher innings in this Pom team I’m afraid
