Bairstow made a rollix of it again.
Having actually seen it now I would think the Poms were badly done by that run out decision
I really enjoyed that boundaryless, 82 ball knock of 9 from Labuschagne. Proper test cricket
He was unhappy about the light. Must have been ok if root took the catch, but itâs easy to say when itâs not headed at your throat at 93mph

I said many years ago that a lifetime ambition of mine was to watch every ball of a test match, and for the match to end in a draw.
This is still a lifetime ambition of mine.
You canât beat the grind of diligent batting in test cricket. Geoff Allottâs 77 ball duck for New Zealand against South Africa would be one of my all time favourites.
Back to matters at hand, weâve bazballed our way to 66/0 at just over 5 an over.

Test cricket is supposed to be Mark Selby forcing two re-racks in the same frame of a five hour long session of a semi-final at the Crucible. There are people out there who want to turn it into Tony Drago or Quinten Hann. They must be defeated.
Good morning for ingland. 13 off the first over. Ali probably wonât bat, so theyâve been down to 10 men really from the start.
Iâd be more concerned with what Moeen as the frontline spinner in the side has to offer on the bowling side of things rather than with the bat. Who could have foreseen that a 37 year old brought out of a 2 year retirement from test cricket would have had such issues with injuries and fitness through most of the series and not be able to bowl for large parts of it.
140/2. Crawley on his way.
Bairstow putting the foot down. 4/262. England on course to win the dead rubber
This Australian cricket team badly needs a big overseas series win to stamp the credentials that some attribute to them. Youâre going all the way back to 2001 to the last time Australia won a series in England, 2004 in India and not too many of this current team would even have been there when they last won a series in South Africa in 2014.
England 317/4
Lead of 305.
363/6
Stuart Broad has announced his retirement. This is his last test at The Oval.
Thanks for the memories Broady.
Far from a dead rubber if you read Steve Smithâs musings over the past few years. The Aussie old guard all want to win an ashes series in England, not draw one. Theyâll be pleasedish but itâs not what they want. Anyhow itâs game on now ger. Theyâll have to play a few shots. I think theyve a decent chance despite the hand of history. If Ali and stokes could bowl theyâd be fucked.
The most interesting thing will be to see how bazball goes in Australia.
Youâre dealing with Paddy Cricix there.
England were in a position to kill it off at 332/4 but have given the Convicts a sniff of a chance finishing 389/9 at stumps.
Australia have handed out severe beatings on home soil and played out close series in England. A pretty one sided rivalry
The great teams have won in all conditions and away in all the test playing nations over the years. This Australia team has only ever really been able really to win on home soil.
Theyâd be a long way short of the great sides of the modern era like Clive Lloyd Windies, Australia of the 90âs and early 00âs and Michael Vaughan/Andrew Strauss England.
Two whitewashes and numerous hidings on Aussie soil. Close wins for England with their preferred ball and conditions. Not a vintage Aussie team but more than a match for the Poms
