A message from Mr Marinakis ā¦ā¦.
As we approach our final home game of the season at The City Ground I wanted to share some thoughts with you, our magnificent supporters.
Our promotion to the Premier League was a historic day for this famous club and none of us will ever forget the incredible celebration we shared in Old Market Square.
This season, our first in the top-flight for 23 years, was always going to be a huge challenge as it is for all newly promoted clubs.
Weāve had some great highs - an early win against West Ham United, our 1-0 victory over Liverpool, two hard-fought draws against Chelsea, a draw at home against Manchester City, and our victories over Leeds, Leicester, Southampton and Brighton. These results prove to us that we are capable of competing and succeeding in the worldās toughest league.
But we have also had to learn many times this season how to stare defeat in the face, pick ourselves up and come back fighting.
It is often hard to remain calm in the most challenging times, but through the highs and the lows of this season, one thing has been constant above all: your incredible and unwavering support.
This is admired and envied by other clubs. Why? Because the relentless backing of our fans is a huge difference-maker.
At every game I have attended this season, the noise of the Garibaldi has drowned out the opposition, enough so to lift the team to perform at their very best. We thank you sincerely for this.
Challenging times can inspire unity and a powerful togetherness to strive for success against the odds.
Every one of us connected with this club has chosen unity over division, even when times have been tough. That is a formidable force.
And that unity is what sets us apart as we go into our final two games. It is our unique strength and our battle-cry as we fight to retain our place in the Premier League.
With two games to go we are alive in this fight. We have held our nerve and stuck together as one, fuelled by a shared passion and belief.
I know you will bring your voices, your banners and your hearts to The City Ground on Saturday evening like never before, and we will be proud to stand there with you in our fortress for the final time this season.
In the 50th year since our famous crest was born we will all unite and fight for the badge and everything it symbolises.
Almost a year ago we made history together under the Wembley arch. Now we have a chance in these last two games to make history once again. Letās do it all together, Iām sure we can make it.
