Our first game back in Europe since '96ā¦feels like a lifetime. A point wasnāt a bad return given how we imploded in the second half. This game was a true definition of what Ange-ball will be like for us. Assured and very dangerous at times going forward, while suicidal with the ball at the back at other times. Igor Jesus was fantastic first half, as was Eliott Anderson throughout. We should have been further ahead at the break, given that Betis scored with their only attempt on goal. Douglas Luiz going off with the knock at half time really upset us, and we just coulndāt keep hold of the ball in the second half. That both subs Kalimuendo and Bakwa couldnāt trap a bag of cement between them didnāt help. If weāre going to play from the back like that, we had better get practising.
