mac the Wexford prod having a pop at the papacy
forgive me if i laugh off your viewpoint
Did you run up the aisle with the buggy for communion?
Iām a born and bred catholic whoās not afraid to admit some of the catholic beliefs are absolute bollocks. If that makes me a prod then so be it.
I abstained from communion as I hadnāt observed the full fasting period recommended before taking the Eucharist. I hope you get the number of likes you wanted to for this post.
You burn in searing heat surrounded by criminals and serpents.
Oh waitā¦
Is that all? I had an awful moment there where I thought it would lead to being locked in a room for eternity with @Nembo_Kid, having to discuss the Ulster Senior Football championship.
It wouldnāt be a discussion.
This is my fear.
Brompton Oratory, thatās where you should go.
I find English Catholics who attend Mass are actually way more devout, good proper Catholics, I canāt wait to see how an English priests conducts a mass, how he works the crowd, the message he is trying to get accross, I donāt like the way mass has gone in Ireland, trying to be trendy, ffs, the last time I was at mass, there was a young girl serving mass, thats not right in my book
Dip in and out kid. Thatās the beauty of our lot. You can pop in and do a bit of praying and not be seen again for a year and no cunt in there will want you decapitated.
Iād say youād get the unreal amount out of it.
One thing iv noticed the past few years since I went back is how i connect with some of the hymns. Especially ones I remember from my childhood. The Catholic church probably has the best collection of hymns in religion. Thatās something we should be proud of. Iād be on the verge of tears sometimes, completely overcome. No rhyme or reason to it as I donāt show much emotion usually but I lose all inhibitions and tben it leaves me high as a kite.
Walking out down the isle after mass I feel like I could jump straight out over a 5 bar gate.
I love an upbeat number like Walk In the Light (itās even better as Gaelige).
Compare that to some Arab droning on in a monotone āhm na na na hum na na na ne na na na naā
So itās a dip in and out religion, you just kind of turn up and take part when you feel like it or have the time. So the rest of the time, you donāt have to abide by the teachings of the church, you just do what you like? Bit of a joke really, Buddhists sound more devout. In fact, atheists are probably more devout.
Fuck off fisty.
Verse 1]
You shall cross the barren desert, but you shall not die of thirst.
You shall wander far in safety though you do not know the way.
You shall speak your words in foreign lands and all will understand.
You shall see the face of God and live.
[Refrain]
Be not afraid.
I go before you always.
Come follow me, and
I will give you rest.
[Verse 2]
If you pass through raging waters in the sea, you shall not drown.
If you walk amid the burning flames, you shall not be harmed.
If you stand before the powār of hell and death is at your side, know that
I am with you through it all.
[Verse 3]
Blessed are your poor, for the kingdom shall be theirs.
Blessed are you that weep and mourn, for one day you shall laugh.
And if wicked men insult and hate you all because of me, blessed, blessed are you!
If I heard that one now sung by a choir Iād bawling my fucking eyes out.
There is some chorus in it. Iām listening to it here on YouTube.
So youāre in a devout period now are you, how long does this generally last? A day, a week? Do you go to confession then after a few weeks of banging prossies and having bad thoughts? HBV confessing his sins to a man in a frock creaming himself at the thought of it, in a darkened box.
I love St Patricks Day mass, There was some right good tunes in Irish sang at it
Leave it fisty.
Have you any faith yourself?
I have faith and while I enjoy organised religion I donāt feel that I need to dedicate myself to it hourly, daily or weekly, whatever. Chill out kid.
