The official Roman Catholic thread

I’d be concerned for the Holy Father. Lot of miles on the clock and his current woes are going to be difficult to overcome. Light a candle there lads…

Big Temu sale on white smoke currently they should be taking advantage of.

Been a great Pope, please God he’ll pull through.

Why would anyone pray for that prick?

Because they believe in the catholic church would seem the obvious answer. Unless of course youre just asking the loaded question to create a stir about what is essentiall just an old.man being sick?

I urgeth thee to prayeth for all men - kings, priests and all in authority, including the mods"
St. Matthew

An old man being sick who has done sweet fuck all in relation to the never ending stream of victims of sexual abuse in the Catholic Church, as well as making homophobic comments.

But hey - he uses a shitty Fiat to get around. He’s one of us.

He’s dead to me

Have you ever spent an hour or even 10 minutes in a nursing home or similar facility and watched breathless people struggling for their lives and thought those kind of thoughts. I see compromised people every day and your only hope for them is for a gentle passing. Harsh call.

From reports there seems to be a massive outpouring of support among the Catholic faithful. Millions are praying for him. If their prayers are worth anything we can rest assured that he’ll be absolutely fine.

That scenario is like the Dubs sending in Eoghan O’Gara with 5 to go and 5 down.

I don’t see how a rugby analogy belongs in the R.C. thread

A bizarre outburst

I have actually mate.

My uncle and aunt died in such circumstances. My aunt passed away unexpectedly with no one with her.

My Dad died in a hospital bed as his lungs gave out.

There are people all over the world passing away. Some good, some bad. It doesn’t mean to say that we have to give sympathy to all of them.

For some reason Francis seem to have a backing by everyone to be a good man. Yet he has done nothing to address the hugely hypocritical and downright evil practices of that organisation since he came Pope. Maybe we should talk about the countless elderly priests and nuns passing away who are actually saint like - as opposed to the head of one of the most despicable organisations on the planet.

You know that’s not true though, why lie?

Here he comes.

You know it though surely. Otherwise you’re lying?

You’re entitled to criticise himself and the Church, but very weird behaviour going mad over him being sick.

Sorry to hear of your bereavements but just to satisfy my curiosity relative to the last sentence - will the mini-farmers be abstaining from the 1st Holy Communion and Confirmation sacraments?

I’m not sure how that question takes away from the overall point that I’m making.

Id say his question stems from your point namely the church being

most despicable organisations on the planet.

you’d hardly put the mini-Farmers into the hands of such an organisation?
