A great man.

The Pope I mean, although clearly you are a very devout, spiritual, warm person also.

Let us pray for the Holy Father, may he find strength at this difficult time.

Let me know when there’s white smoke

Palm Sunday tomorrow. I’m just back from a months mind and the epic long gospel… Those Israelis were a bloodthirsty lot two thousand years ago and the narrator gave a rousing performance to keep the pageant moving seamlessly.

If I had a misgiving about this evenings Mass it’s that I found the celebrant, an Oriental man, somewhat miscast in his role as Jesus facing crucifixion. He was difficult to hear and had a kind of a sing/song manner of speaking. I found my mind wandering occasionally and was expecting a ‘wah wice wid dat’ at any minute.

He was out like a flash to the church grounds greeting all and sundry afterwards and seemed a lovely man. God bless him.
