The official Roman Catholic thread

Run along young lad

I never said they were ‘an’ ethos you utter Spastic. I know what a fucking Deis school is…

My main reason for choosing ET would be the non involvement of the church. I dont see why they should go to a Gaelscoil and communicate in a dead language just to avoid this. But yeah, all I said above was the name thing, nothing else. Fool.

Ahhh, how very cool of you, a smiley repsonse, witty.
Care to add anything ti the debate or is your all-round Corkness precluding you from a debate about anything god related on the basis that every one of you saucy-lipped, French-speaking knacker accented, insecure clowns down by the Lee, thinks that the sun actually revolves around yourself?

There are various types of schools from educate together , regular mainstream catholic and prod and also deis schools with their home liason officers who play a very large role within both school and community. The ethos in deis schools of course is less focused on religious matters compared to others.

You clearly hadn’t a clue what DEIS is about. You look very silly now.
Your comments on Gaelscoileanna also expose your ignorance of how education works.
Your knowledge of primary school education is minimal if you believe that the church has much input at all in schools nowadays. Most parish priests are too busy dying of old age to give a shit about the local babysitting service. But sure if this mistaken belief provides a vehicle for your bellicose annoncements regarding your lack of belief in a god then graysh! The irony of you accusing any religion of arrogance/egocentrism whilst at the same time maintaining your certainty that you know what happens after death is delicious BTW.

2/10 - get back to us when you learn how to troll and insult properly old chap.

Indeed. The local parish priest is in and out of our local primary school brainwashing the little kiddies with his Gawd-bothering gibberish. Involved in all of the local events involving the school as well. Unfortunately this is what we get for letting a load of frigid housewives run our primary schools.

the key point is that the ‘diocese’ have should no say whatsoever in education provided by the state. To be honest, I think the final decision should rest with the Dept of education with the principal having a say in the matter. The combination of the local ‘independent’ reps, PP, diocese having a say in any appointment is so wide open to corruption it is ridiculous. Not saying a dept of education official couldnt be corrupted but central appointments are theoretically anyway more in the interest of the state.

The notion of a PP heading up a BoM of a state school or having a say in the appointment of any public sector worker including a teacher is frankly disgusting. Id question actually if it is even legal. Surely a Protestant, Muslim or non religion teacher could legitimately claim to have been discriminated against if a man with a collar on was part of the interview panel?

if people want to head along to sunday school or whatever in their own time fair enough. But state coffers should not be funding the promotion of any religion.

the churchg should close their schools then-we would be fucked then

rural QLD would still be alright mate so not to worry

Where did you copy and paste that from? Or from whom?

I’ve had enough friends grilled in interviews by priests to know what input they have into schools. Even if this is the height of it, it is still too much and shows these cunts up for the power hungry control freaks they are … outdated ones at that.

Where did I claim to have all the answers?

Ye would want to go back to the drawing board.

Exactly.

They may not always have a say in the day to day running but they would have a strong say in who gets a job working there. Involved in decision making for development of school and depending on the localpriest, could visit classes regularly reminding the kids they are there and spreading their poison.

CM is going to have to get a new persona again after this. Do you still remember the password to Carl Carlson?

I wrote it on the back of my hand kid. However, my prawn and mickey passwords are lost for now.

2 best posters here

any of the muldoons on here ever abused by a priest?

think you’d be better saying-“any of the muldoons on here never abused by a priest?”

Interesting discussion on Charlie Bird’s radio show today - judging by David Quinn’s comments it seems the Catholic Church have decided to go the extra couple of miles and involve the lay community on this particular issue.

The anti-clerical bias of the media was also discussed, but I presume that that would be an ecumenical matter.

Verbally or physically?
