The official Roman Catholic thread

I see the most senior Catholic bishop in Britain has resigned today in response to a report at the weekend that he had tried it on with four different young priests in the '80s looking for a bit of bum love. What makes it particularly hilarious is that he has been very vocally anti-gay marriage in the last 12 months.

I went to mass at the weekend.
I was surprised to find our local priest is an African.

Fucking foreigners. They come here and take all our jobs and our best looking altar boys.

I am sure that it is possible to have homosexual tendencies, but to be anti gay marriage. Sure one would know better than any straight person how wrong it was.

As an aside, for the first time in my life I saw the collection basket being dropped at Mass yesterday. Never seen that happen before. Pandemonium ensued, oul wans crawling under seat trying to get the it of change back.

Iā€™m sure itā€™s possible aswell. Iā€™m sure he was genuine in his opposition to it. It just seems a tad hypocritical to say that ā€œsuch relationships are harmful to the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of those involvedā€ when the repression of his own homosexuality was (allegedly) causing him to take action that made the lives of four young priests very uncomfortable. Seems like his own mental and spiritual wellbeing wasnā€™t the healthiest.

Not even sure what your second sentence means, but if itā€™s meant to be an insinuation that I am gay then

From Ballycastle originally.

Apologies. Poor use of language. Edited now.

Braz seemed to go on the defensive there very quickly with regards Faganā€™s slip.

He did indeed.

Why, is Braz a cleric?

Donal Og has taught me that itā€™s okay to be gay. Iā€™m sure Iā€™d be happy to admit it if I was into the whole rough and tumble of homosexual activity.

Ah who cares if youā€™re gay, sure no problem with that. If you admitted to being a priest on the other handā€¦

Yet another rabid homophobe turns out to be gay themselves. Itā€™s almost too obvious at this stage

Braz has said heā€™s not gay, take his word for it and move on mate.

Heā€™s issued a statement this evening basically confirming he loved the cock while he was a priest, bishop and cardinal. Fairly amusing, as you say, given his stance on gay marriage and a litany of comments demonising the gays.

Remind you of any posters on here?
