The Official TFK 2023 Fun Running Thread

Was my 5th time doing Berlin. The weather is nearly always perfect. They had 58,000 entries so was biggest marathon ever in terms of numbers. The start is very busy but I didn’t find it too bad after that. Few of the lads in around 3’30/3’40 found it very congested, The water stations are chaotic. They give plastic cups and I was trying to take them from volunteers for first half but realised then that it was easier to just grab from the table myself. There’s lots of pushing and shoving and at one stage a lad just stopped right in front of me and had to swerve to avoid running into him which isn’t great when you feel your legs are about to cramp. It’s a great marathon and I’d recommend it. It’s gone expensive though compared to some of the other foreign ones. I think if I’m doing a marathon abroad again I’ll definitely travel on the Friday. I only got about 4 hours sleep Friday night as had 6.30 flight Saturday morning and it’s a bit much.
