Cheers Jimmy, ive only happened upon this forum today and already gathered what a nice chap the raven is! great win last saturday, tough games ahead tho especially with Felli and peanuts banned

Yes, no doubt it was one of their best performances of the season. Pienaar has been poor enough this campaign in my opinion. Fellaini has struggled to regain the consistency he showed earlier in the season, the whole Stoke thing really seemed to fuck him up a bit. Would be hoping Moyes will just replace Pienaar with Naismith, and Fellaini with Jelavic, who hopefully has had his confidence boosted with the goal against City. But no doubt, Moyes being the negative fucker that he is, he’ll stick with 4-5-1 and play the worse than useless Phil Neville in midfield.

N.B. Sean - An extremely dim view will be taken of repeated references to Pienaar as ‘Peanuts’ and Fellaini as ‘Felli’ . This isn’t Blue Kipper you’re on.

Some more excellent match observations from Mark O’Brien, former editor of the ‘When Skies are Grey’ fanzine. The Arsenal one, in particular, contains some top class insulting of their players.

Is it disappointing or realistic where they are at now? I think they are a par with Arsenal all things being even, but Gunners were playing better, so maybe a draw was a decent result

Most things are on a par, all things being even.

I know it’s excruciatingly boring at this stage to mention Evertons financial constraints when discussing their league position but when you look at the teams above them, realistically, you should conclude that Everton shouldn’t really be in contention for a champions league position, and given some of the sides below them, are actually over achieving by finishing in 5th or 6th.

On the other hand, if you look back through some of their results this season you could make the case that they’ve actually underachieved… throwing away points from winning positions, in games they utterly dominated, against Newcastle, Fulham and Reading. Points were also dropped against relegation contenders such as QPR, Stoke, Norwich and Wigan. I’d be more inclined to say that Everton are entitled to feel a little disappointed that they aren’t in a stronger position in the race for fourth.

With regard to the Arsenal match, I’d agree the result was a fair one, both sides would covet some of each others players, with Everton possessing a stronger defensive unit and Arsenal possessing more dangerous players in attack. It was also the second draw played out between the sides this season, proof perhaps that Everton belong in such company right now.

Evertons hopes of Champions League football are well and truly dead in the water after a very poor display in their 1 nil defeat at Sunderland,

Big win for Di Canio though. UEfa would be a good result all things considered.

How do ye see Sundays game going boyos…

3-1 Everton with Lucas sent off for Liverpool.
