The Official TFK Father's Issues Thread. I don't know how they do it

4 year old out in mouth ulcers tonight, inside of her mouth destroyed with ulcers. Doctor said its ‘viral’. Going to hospital tomorrow to get them swabbed. Third round of these she has got since xmas. She eats well, sleeps well and is thriving but there is obviously something underlying thats causing this.

Never ending season of sickness lads.

:joy: Fucking farmers

could be herpes

The herpes virus is very contagious. It can be spread from one child to another or from parent to child through direct contact with a herpes sore or by contact with the saliva of someone with the infection (eg, through kissing). In athletes, especially wrestlers and rugby players, the virus can be transmitted during the physical contact of competitive events.

When your child develops a herpes infection for the first time (primary HSV infection), mouth sores, fever, and swollen, tender lymph glands are the most common symptoms, usually seen after swelling and reddening of the gums. These sores slowly heal over 7 to 14 days. During a herpes flare-up, children develop 1 or 2 sores around the mouth. In some youngsters, however, the symptoms are so mild that no one is even aware that an infection is present.

After your child’s initial herpes infection occurs and has run its course, the virus itself will remain in the nerve cells of his body in an inactive or dormant (latent) form. He will be a carrier of the herpes virus for life. From time to time, the virus may become active again (sometimes in response to cold, heat, fever, fatigue, stress, or exposure to sunlight), causing a return of a cold sore (secondary HSV infection). These outbreaks often begin with a tingling or itching sensation in the area where the sores are about to break out. The sores and blisters often become crusty before healing.

The “healthy eating” fad has ruined the country lads. “Men” waffling on here about all new-fangled diets and nutri-bullet fads is all a load of bollocks.
The dinner, as in a good stew around 1 pm is the way to kill these malaises.

I’ll get my coat myself…

Would it be worth giving her L-Lysine? Check with a pharmacist, but I’ve seen 20mg L-Lysine per kg body weight quoted online.

Only other thing I can suggest is a good old fashioned Floradix iron and vitamin tonic. It’s a great boost coming out the back of the winter season.

Hope she’s feeling better pal. Ulcers are a nasty dose. They put you off your food, which is one of the things you need to keep healthy.

I used to get cold sores every few months before I started taking these. Even twice a week keeps the cunts away. No sign of the for the last three years.

I used to get them a lot as a kid. Still do on occasion

One thing which helped is get a toothpaste with no sodium lauryl sulphate (makes toothpaste foamy)

If she can at her age vitamin b12 helps

Rinse mouth with salty water

Don’t let her eat anything too hot temperature wise as it causes them too if it causes trauma to mouth

This article is decent - not sure if the meds are OK for that age or available here

Informative

Nothing worse than when you’d be gearing up for a “No Name” disco all week and friday morning a cold sore would show up.

If you got to bed early, instead of practicing your moves in front of the mirror until the small hours, you probably wouldn’t have gotten so run down.

Then again, hindsight is foresight for gobshites.

LGBTF - lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transsexuals, and fathers. It’s the new gender confusion minority, so do not oppress us or else.

Just pop one every other day is it? I get them if I get very run down or stressed. Went through a run of getting one every week for 5 weeks last year. Been clean for a while now though.

Go one a day pal, but get good quality ones while you’re at it (e.g. Solgar). They work a treat for cold sores and mouth ulcers. Also look up “high l-lysine food” and change your diet to suit. @anon67715551’s advice about a feed of stew isn’t far off the mark. A lamb or beef stew for dinner with legumes thrown in, and a couple of eggs for breakfast - you’ll be laughing.

Ya, even one three times a week will sort you out. In times of stress or when you feel it coming on I’d horse back two of them a day.

I can’t recommend it highly enough, I’d wager it could even clean up some of the shit on @HBV’s puss. It’s that good.

Imagine having to work with them. Nothing worse than some gimp going on about his kids all the time. I switch off when lads starting telling me about their children
