The Official TFK NCT Thread

Youse lads aren’t at it at all at all. Just got an extension of my exemption. Who needs an MOT? I’d say cute hoors like @glenshane have never MOT’d and oul runnin’ on red motor in his life.

I think one’s good 'til june, the other might be due this month…it might be close to classic status though, not sure if it needs one

Took the nephews car up to Northpoint (No2) there this morning. Lovely morning and despite the general Mad Max/Post Apocalypse air of the place it was buzzing. A lad has set up a Transit Van selling teas and coffee and is coining it by the looks of it particularly because people are reluctant to wait inside.

Anyway the result was a fail. Headlights - the covers have gone too cloudy (it’s a fifteen year old car) and one of the bulbs was too high and needed adjustment. Brought it down to Atlas and they did a fine job. We go again on Good Friday.

Not allowed to wait inside.

The chap told me I could wait inside if I wore a mask and there were one or two people who looked like they’d given up on life waiting inside. Struck me as odd because the last time I was up there in Northpoint (No1) I was told I had to wait outside.

By god.

Are the transit van entrepreneurs from the halting site on the way into Northpoint?

Back of the cul de sac.

I was so excited after passing I drove away without the lights on. When I was flagged down by the Gards in Ballymun it was to roar at me at call me a bollox. Not entirely unjustified

The nct is a cunt of a thing. The MOT lads would just have fixed it quickly if they could and sent you on your way, or given you an advisory. They gave me an advisory for a nail smack in the middle of the back tyre on a motorbike.

Did they mention the lights?

Not NCT related as such, but I drove the Adonis home there last week and it developed a hole in the exhaust at some point and was making a right racket. There’s a garage next door to the business up in rochdale, run by a nice man called Mohammed. I’ve been taking the cars there for the past few months as it’s handy to leave them in for the day. I took it in yesterday and had a phone call before lunch. Fcuk it, I thought, this won’t be good news. He said it was ready to be picked up and they’d welded it up. I didn’t think fixing parts with welding and the like was a thing anymore, but £50 and done. A nice little lift to the day.
