The Official TFK Nimby thread

The Strand Road stuff makes no sense in fairness. Whatever about abandoning the Eastern Bypass, prioritising cycling upgrades for pleasure seekers is insane. The roads around there will only get worse which does serve some of the residents right as they’d oppose Level Crossing closures.

@admins?

I personally wouldn’t take on the urbanist and transport lovers.

Hardly the same cunt who writes bullshit articles about it taking Ireland too long to get infrastructure projects done??

There’s no conflict in those statements though?

McDowell is not one of the 19 listed in the paper as parties to the judicial review.
Kneel Steen will be the big winner in all this.

Wexford very much on-brand re the quality of its elected politicians

“Cllr Pip Breen suggested Co Wexford was a victim of its own reputation and was being targeted due to its favourable geography.

“This is happening because we’re the sunny south east and also because we have good, flat land; why don’t they go to Spain? It’s not producing anything only sunshine.””

some belters

“These solar farms are a blight on society and there should be a material contravention put in the county development plan to prevent them from being approved, we have a responsibility as elected members to put a stop to this nonsense, I have no objection to solar farms being put in appropriate areas but not where the land is being worked.”

“A rural community is being expected to shoulder an industrial-level development with little regard for the people who actually live there,” she said. “I support renewable energy,”

“these grants are no substitute for the “long-term impacts on landscape, farming, education,”

education??

We can then use that money to buy clothes and electricity which is generated from solar farms not built on arable land.

Wexford is mostly tillage is it not? Are you saying we should import grain, vegetables and fruit rather than grow here? Doesn’t seem environmentally sound
