Won a credit union table quiz in school. Carried a collection of dead weights to beat 64 tables comprised of the finest budding intellects in south and east galway.

Struggling to remember other two.
All the ones I wanted to pick were gone e.g Liverpool in the 80s, All Ireland’s in the 80s etc

I did the a
Scor years ago with a lad who wasnt the full bob. He used to jump out to the front of the stage with the answer for most questions (except his own). There was a general.accpetance to knock us off 20% final scoee which we all felt was fair

We had to play a game in West Tipp one evening ( U10s or 12s ) and traveled with our teacher, his son was full forward. The teacher asked us as we passed the rock of Cashel what it was.
Paddy, smart cunt, beside me in the back of the teachers ford cortina said Cahir castle.
All grand, we won, next morning @ 9:20am same teacher walks in, levels Paddy with a puck and tells him he should pay more attention during geography lessons.
Only in the 70s in Ireland and only Gaa.

That’s a very big attendance for a quiz. But given that it was organised by the Credit Union, it’s not surprising the interest rate was high.
