Fascinating dynamic among the Jamaican team at the end of that relay. Like a family who hate each other gathered at a birthday party. Shelly Anne Fraser-Price playing the role of the conciliatory mammy who is happy to play along with the joy of the youngster Briana Williams, while big sisters Shericka Jackson and Elaine Thompson-Herah sulk. Jackson is not happy she didnāt get to bring them home in a world record.

Allyson Felix is pure class. A lovely interview by the all time legend with Dave Gillick there. Sheās just happy to still be running, still be competitive and still be winning medals, even if theyāre not gold, at 35 years of age. If she was a GAA player sheād be the type of great player that would happy to accept a substituteās role as her career neared its end, happy to contribute to the team in whatever way she could, and still be a great dressing room influence, enjoying being part of it all, rather than storming off in a huff when she was no longer the undisputed star.

Even in a relay she is so visibly so much faster than everybody else on the track, including her team mates. Sheās the first female sprinter since Flo-Jo to have that roadrunner legs effect going on, where the legs disappear in a circular blur and she appears jet propelled. Unbelievable as it is, itās a very impressive sight, and has the wow factor you sort of demand at an Olympics.
