The Open 2015

(Fairly) interesting watching Poulter practise for this at the moment and answering questions from twitter at the same time:

The final year of prestige for the tournament before the BBC inevitably gives the rights up to Sky 2 years early

This is how windy it is at St Andrews today.

Finishing on Monday now, which is a bit shit.

Irish amateur Mr. Paul Dunne is now the OUTRIGHT leader on -11, with Ireland’s Padraig Harrington in joint second place on -10.

Incredible scenes.

Come on Padraig. A proper irish sportsman.

Mr. Jordan Niebrugge of the USA nipping at Mr. Paul Dunne’s heels in the race to be leading amateur. -9 plays -12.

Great round from Dunne. Where is he from?

Are you watching espn? Just closed with Jason Days in the lead, sos louis oosthuizen and some kid from UAB named dunne. Ffs sake

Greystones

Wicklow

He doesn’t get the money if he wins.

If you finish second to him would you feel pretty obliged to give him some/most of the winnings?

I don’t think they do.

When Lowry won the Irish Open, Robert Rock picked up the Winners Cheque.

Whatever happens tomorrow, Dunne is now set up for the big time. Tournament invitations, a European Tour Card & Sponsors fawning over him.

Can he not turn pro tonight?

No watching it on spanish tv with the proper BBC coverage.

Is he Harry? Thought he’d have to do well in a few tournaments tbh.

A gallant effort by Phil.

Padraig Harrington what a sportsman. From the BBC golf coverage, Harrington has just tee’d off.

Awww,
nice touch from Padraig Harrington after he lashes his first tee shot
down towards Swilcan Burn. “Thanks Ivor, all the best,” he tells tee
announcer Ivor Robson, who is hanging up his microphone today after 41
Opens. Told you the Irishman was a likeable chap.Harrington earns
some sort of karma for his kind words, knocking a perfect approach over
the water, which has a touch of back spin to leave him eyeing up an
early birdie. A wink to the camera indicates that he is relaxed and very
happy with his start…
