The oo is harmless enough for a lot of those lads, especially in the country - they’ve f all else to be at, no music, gaa, tfk etc. I did a bit of work for a few lodges over a good few years, I made a couple of good friends and was always well looked after. The halls are mainly community centres; credit unions, embroidery classes, historical societies etc. The badness gets up around the 12th, especially with brexit, talk of referendums etc.
One of the men told me that my account was discussed during the agm. A senior member started with the wtf is this fenian doing here etc. He was told to wise up in no uncertain terms. I’d take the word of the man that told me any day.
We’ll have plenty of lodges in our new Ireland, it’ll be their country as well afterwards!

Was driving up through Co. Armagh on Saturday and the flags were out in force, the bridges were painted, and there were posters of King Billy up.

You probably wouldn’t be drinking in the pubs around the marching season, places like Tobermore, Desertmartin and Curran have a dark enough history - but we don’t see much klan activity these days. It’s the loyalist parts of Belfast, portadown etc you’d really want to watch.
