Itâs difficult to fathom. Poor auld Zuck is spending money like a drunken sailor, throwing it at all manner of shiny shiny.
And the ones outside his sphere seem to continuen in eluding him. Instagram, whatsapp, all proved successful investments and could be taken under wing of existing operations. Not huge leaps.
But hardware is a different beast, VR hasnt been able to resonate with his intended audience and AI hasnt a template he can simply rob. He continues to grapple with these while blowing insane dough.

There is continued talk of a tech bubble and a stat of something like top 10 tech companies being 30% of the value of the stock market.
The people on the ground of IT companies are saying AI is a load of overblown bollox. A very good Executive Assistant. And good at some generic coding work but introduce any element of nuance and it falls over.
The Meta AI thing last night doesnât surprise me even a little bit.

Its akin to dotcom bubble. The hype was correct in the end. Everything did go online. But the fizz needs to be blown off and then proper groundwork put in. Years off but no doubting it will follow similar trajectory i think.

Sure most companies processes are so shit and non standard that you canât run automations until you streamline the shit out of them. And that costs a lot of money. A lot of ye are probably still working on green screens ffs. All the big bosses talk a good game about AI but they donât have a clue.
