The Post Rating Dispute Resolution Thread

@Bandage if log the details here I’ll make sure the posters in question are dealt with.

“Jockstrap McHaggishead” :smile:

I poked fun at these weirdos whose “analysis” of gridiron usually consists of generic comments like “they need to stop the quarterback from throwing TD passes if they want to win”.

@Fran (quite inexplicably and disgracefully) said it was akin to me saying Celtic were going to sign Jockstrap McHaggishead from East Fife when it’s nothing of the sort. An avalanche of “likes” reined in from those who must have been put out by my very fair initial comment.

It was very hurtful indeed.

Should his user privileges be revoked? It’ll be difficult to argue that he deserves to remain part of our active posting community after this.

Hi Bandage,

I found both of your posts to be amusing. I guess you weren’t expecting Fran to come back with a headshot like that but he happy for him, he is a decent sort as are you

Sounds like you pointed out their gridiron discussion was of a similar level to an @artfoley hurling preview. I have to say I love when these so called “football” fanatics are taken down a peg or two (the same lads who deride people at rugby games for not having a clue).

In @Fran’s defence Jockstrap McHaggishead is a good name, but I’d agree with @bandage that the retort had absolutely no relevance to the preceding discussion. I also need to take into account it’s not @fran’s fault that a load of posters were too dim to see this and incorrectly awarded him “an avalanche” of likes.

I will need some time to consider my verdict, but at the moment I am leaning towards an infraction for Fran and a stern warning to the likers.

Ordinarily I’d be happy for @Fran to get a “nice post” award but not in these circumstances, pal.

I’m wound up something terrible but I trust it’ll be resolved to my satisfaction by one or more of the following:

  • a full and frank apology by Fran and deletion of his offending post;
  • a post rating dispute resolution which is agreeable to me;
  • the offending “likers” to revisit their incorrectly awarded “likes”
  • a banning for Fran.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

This reflects very poorly on the quality of poster in that thread.

I gave it a like there as well. My first time visiting the gridiron thread

@Bandage text me there, he’s not doing well

I find myself nodding in agreement with you here.

Sorry bandage mate, i didn’t see it going so badly for you. I gave it a like for the comedy value of the name, I’d agree with you about the hilarious analysis on NFL despite being far from expert myself. Not quite as bad as the baseball coverage here though which is genuinely brilliantly bad, all its short is someone calling for a speedball.

Me too. Didn’t know it existed until @Bandage drew my attention to it.

Don’t worry about me, mate. I’ll survive this somehow. I don’t know how at the moment but I’ll get through it.

This isn’t our first time around the block here though. I’ve thrown similar comments out before and been met with equally horrific barbs.

I just never learn my lesson.

I have admit that my NFL knowledge wouldn’t be up there with the likes of forum experts like @Lazarus but I decided to stick my head above the parapet here and post something slightly more meaningful than “great catch by Cobb there” or “massive stop by the packers D there”.

When I turned off flight mode on my phone as I landed in CDG to be greeted by a needless and vindictive sideswipe from yourself when I was expecting at least 2 maybe 3 likes my heart sunk. I needed to get my revenge and I did.

Given @Fran has pleaded guilty to just aimlessly lashing out insults, and taking into account section 3.1 of the TFK Charter which states “Attack the poster, not the post” I feel a warning is sufficient at this time.

Following evidence from @backinatracksuit I am not revoking the likes on the post as I feel there are a number of elements to Fran’s post and the likes may have been issued for any of the individual elements as opposed to liking the entirety and/or intent of the post.

On a final note, it was heart warming to confirm my suspicion that Gridiron fans are spas.

Whoa whoa whoa buddy, wanna back that up that assertion?

Listen mate I’m available on pm for the next three or four hours if it gets too much for you, there’s some nasty fuckers here who get some perverse pleasure out of taking down big hitters like us.
When I played madden I’d always go for a hail Mary on second down, can’t understand why it isn’t more common. And the quarterback fella should run backwards a bit further.
