That was a good emphatic finish.
The reverse commentator’s curse. Went exactly to plan, pal.
FFS.
Deary me.
Gordon should have been braver and more commanding there.
Fuck. Izzy is right to be asking questions of the other defenders there. He’s had to cover all the way across to the right hand post. A little unlucky with the deflection too but we’ve been capable of conceding all night.
Ah Kayal. Poor first touch from Scep but adjusted well to tee Kayal up. Miserable effort.
Johansen is ridiculously fit. Always sprinting around the pitch in the last 5 minutes.
Scepovic wasn’t really on his toes again there. Smashing recovery tackle though.
Great performance. Cruised it throughout.
That gimp Owen Coyle makes a fair point here. There’s no discernible pattern to Celtic’s play and it’s hard to decipher what Deila is trying to do. Does Deila have a clue, chaps?
Great win for Celtic, ground it out against far superior opposition:clap:
Scott Brown was like Martin Adams chasing a young boy around a park with the big hunched up shoulders and the head down puffing away, great first touch as well
For those not travelling to Romania, Astra v Celtic is live on 3e tomorrow evening. Kick-off 6pm.
Anthony Stokes was ruled out of the trip with illness this morning. Commons and Forrest remain absent too though the latter will be available for Sunday’s game at Aberdeen.
With Guidetti ineligible, it’ll fall on Scepovic to lead the line. Tonev is also in the squad.
I presume it will be along the lines of:
Gordon
Lustig, Denayer, Van Dijk, Izzy
Brown, Mulgrew
McGregor, Johansen, Wakaso
Sceptic
Subs:
Zaluska
Matthews
Ambrose
Tonev
Griffiths
Kayal
Berget
Think Berget will be done at Celtic when January comes, he struggles to even make the bench now when we have a load of attackers unavailable.

Nice one Colin.
I presume they’re getting their coverage via the Astra satellite

Agreed. Pity about Stokes. He has benefited hugely from playing alongside Guidetti. Stokes isn’t ideally suited to playing up front on his own but I’d have a bit more faith in him this time given his decent form and Scepovic is still a bit unproven in general play and as a goalscorer.
It’s not a great bench. Griffiths is the only one you’d expect to make much of a positive contribution out of those.

I would hope Tonev might show something when he gets a run of games.

Of corsa they will.
Yeah. He’s looked lively a couple of times but for a guy presumably trying to play his way into a permanent move he is very quiet other times. Wakaso is certainly more energetic and gets involved far more. Not writing Tonev off but he should be forcing his way into the team a bit more, not just waiting for opportunities to come to him.
Wakaso’s game would certainly be based more on energy, Tonev is probably a passive player who flits in and out of games. He’s been unlucky do far with niggles and this suspension coming up. Hopefully he’ll get a run of games after Christmas so Ronnie can properly assess him.
Think Boerrigter and Berget will be gone in January.
