1 - Championship is a significantly higher standard than SPL. Don’t cod yourself into thinking that just because SPL has European spots that it is in some way superior. It’s not.
2 - What is the point in qualifying for Europe if only so you can embarrass yourselves not once or twice but three times against the champions of Poland and the football powerbase of Slovenia??
1 - Who or what is the SPL ?
Only saw the last half hour and then some highlights (was giving a masterclass in @The Selfish Giant’s weekly footie game for fixie lovers).
Good result, superbly taken goal. Couple of the chances we gave up were horrific. We desperately need a holding midfielder but aside from that there were some dreadful positional decisions taken by defenders - the one where Johansen and Izzy got sucked towards the ball on the counter was most obvious, but that lad’s free header in the first half too when he got between Denayer and Ambrose and found himself in loads of space 6 yards out. Even at the end they had a chance that your man snatched at when we let the ball fall to him in the box. Our centre backs seem too far apart most of the time and we aren’t picking up runners when they come pass midfield or come in from the flanks.
how Celtic and spuds got 4 points between them last night was amazing… both were played off the park at home… that was hilarious when the 2 celtic defenders went chasing after the ball and left the Sparta player all on his own in front of the goal…your man couldn’t believe the amount of time he had!!.. you wouldn’t see that at U-15 !!..Besiktas looked really slick against Spuds …just couldn’t finish…

the gap between the Celtic midfield and defense was massive…the amount of ball that Sparta , Souidani in particular ,picked up just outside the celtic box in the first half was ridiculous …
sorry pal, dinamo…I was thinking Sparta prague for some reason…it goes back to what @mickee321 was saying before…the technical ability of some of those players from the former Yugoslavia is class…
In fairness, that was from a break after a Celtic corner and that idiot Johansen left the guy free in the middle and joined Izaguirre and Brown in haring after the guy on the right. I thought the centre backs defended well given the spaces in front of them. Celtic were the better side in the first half but Dinamo deserved a point based on their second half performance.
A few too many sloppy passes so far. Mulgrew and Stokes particularly guilty.
Denayer sleeping at the back there gifted them an opportunity. What was really worrying was how we didn’t recover even though they took an age over their attack and it took a really poor ball to a free man to allow Virgil to intervene and rescue.
Celtic’s passing has been awfully poor so far. We look fairly clueless with them sitting deep. Giving it away cheaply rather than building pressure with sharp combination play.
No Bitton tonight, I was hoping he would get a much more central figure this season so disappointed to see he is behind even Kayal in the pecking order. Aslo Berget not in the squad, I wouldn’t expect us to take the option up on him in January.
Very sloppy start alright, we look really disjointed.
Not the first team to play us this season who started poorly and then realised we’re really poor at the back and have decided to just have a go. And now we’re all over the place. But the likes of McGregor giving it away every time it gets up to them isn’t helping.
